Privacy policy

Updated: 25 October 2026

We collect as little data as possible. This page describes what actually happens when you use the site.

No account, no forms, no tracking cookies

The site does not require an account, does not ask for your e-mail address and does not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Your position (geolocation)

The “Use my position” button asks your browser for permission to access your location. If you accept, your coordinates are used only inside your browser to compute the eclipse times. They are never sent to our server or to any third party, and they are not stored. If you refuse, the site keeps working: you can choose a town or enter coordinates.

Coordinates that you enter or that come from a click on the map appear in the address bar of your browser (for example ?lat=34.74&lon=10.76) so that you can share a link to your results. They are not transmitted to us beyond the normal request for the page if you open or share such a link.

Background map

The interactive map loads map tiles, fonts and styles from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org). As with any web resource, the OpenFreeMap servers receive your IP address and the technical information sent by your browser when these files are requested. The eclipse layers themselves are served by this site.

Hosting

Like every website, the hosting provider records technical access logs (IP address, date, requested page, browser) for security and operating purposes. The name of the host is given in the legal notice.

Audience measurement

No audience measurement is active at the date of this page. If one is added, it will be a privacy-friendly, cookie-free service that does not track individuals, and this page will be updated before activation.

Your rights

You can contact the site owner about any question related to your personal data (see the legal notice).
